Volunteers make it Happen

The Sunshine Centres for Seniors' policy is to encourage choice. An individual may be a participant, a volunteer in programs at the Centres, or both. This affords volunteer opportunities to many seniors who might not otherwise consider such service. This practice avoids having two distinct groups: volunteers who only give help and members who only receive help. Instead, it creates a seamless community where all are valued.

Sunshine Centres does not restrict volunteer opportunities to seniors, or those who participate in the Centres' programs. Volunteers of all ages serve in many capacities:

• Board of Directors
• Ward's Island program
• Bloor/Yonge programs and services
• Fundraising
